This vibrant and family-friendly event has been a cherished tradition since 2011, gathering alumni families, friends, advocates, and community partners to raise awareness and support for vulnerable children around the world. Held at the Dawson Church Recreation Center, participants will race through the beautiful streets of Edgewood in Homewood, making every step count for a life-changing cause.
Whether you choose to join us in person or opt for the virtual "Run Where You Are" option, your participation makes a difference! Enjoy a fun-filled morning with exciting activities including bounce houses, food trucks, and face painting, perfect for the entire family. The 5K race kicks off at 8:00 AM, followed by a Fun Run at 8:45 AM, with awards being presented at 9:45 AM. Don't miss the chance to be part of this uplifting community event. Together, we can stand for vulnerable children and spread hope around the globe!

Started in 2011, the R(un) for One 5K is a family-friendly annual event where Lifeline Childrens Services' alumni families, friends, advocates, and community partners gather to raise awareness and support for vulnerable children around the world.
Through Lifelines international orphan care ministry, children are being loved, equipped, and encouraged as they enroll in school, learn life skills, and hear the hope of the gospel.
On Saturday, August 23rd, runners from across the country will lace up for this life-changing cause. Whether you join us IN BIRMINGHAM or choose to RUN WHERE YOU ARE, your miles matter!
IN BIRMINGHAM, the race takes place at Dawson Churchs Recreation Center and runs through the streets of Edgewood in Homewood. Its a fun-filled morning with bounce houses, food trucks, face painting, and activities for the whole family. We cant wait to see you there!
PREFER TO RUN VIRTUALLY? With our RUN WHERE YOU ARE option, you can participate from your neighborhood, a local trail, or even a treadmillwherever you are! Virtual runners receive a race packet in the mail, including a T-shirt, bib, medal, and printable race-day resources, and can run anytime on or before August 23rd. Share your photos with #RunForOne and be part of the global Lifeline community standing for vulnerable children.

Gather your friends and family to run in your local parks, neighborhoods, or church! Everyone that signs up before 8/1/25 will receive a race t-shirt in the mail. Please note the additional $5 added to the in person registration cost is to help with packet shipping. For families or groups of 3 or more, there will be a $10 discount.
