Started in 2011, the R(un) for One 5K is a family-friendly annual event where Lifeline Childrens Services' alumni families, friends, advocates, and community partners gather to raise awareness and support for vulnerable children around the world.
Through Lifelines international orphan care ministry, children are being loved, equipped, and encouraged as they enroll in school, learn life skills, and hear the hope of the gospel.
On Saturday, August 29th, runners from across the country will lace up for this life-changing cause. Whether you join us IN BIRMINGHAM, AL or choose to RUN WHERE YOU ARE, your miles matter!
IN BIRMINGHAM, the race takes place at Veterans Park. Its a fun-filled morning with bounce houses, food trucks, face painting, and activities for the whole family. We cant wait to see you there!
PREFER TO RUN VIRTUALLY? With our RUN WHERE YOU ARE option, you can participate from your neighborhood, a local trail, or even a treadmillwherever you are! Virtual runners receive a race packet in the mail, including a T-shirt, and can run anytime on or before August 29th. Share your photos with #RunForOne and be part of the global Lifeline community standing for vulnerable children. **PLEASE NOTE THAT WE CAN NOT ENSURE YOU WILL RECEIVE YOUR SHIRT BEFORE AUGUST 29TH IF YOU CHOOSE THIS OPTION AFTER 8/15/25.**

This event follows the standard running industry policy: All entry fees are non-refundable. We reserve the right to postpone or cancel the event due to circumstances beyond our control such as a natural disaster or emergency or as required to protect the safety of participants and staff. No refunds will be issued under these circumstances. We reserve the right to change the details of the event without prior notice.
