This uplifting event is designed to honor the legacy of Lucas Harashima while raising funds for vital research into DIPG, an aggressive brain tumor affecting children. Whether you choose to skip, run, walk, bike, or dance, participants can take on their choice of 1, 3, 5, or 10 miles from the comfort of their own locations, encouraging families and friends to join in the fun and support an important cause.
Taking place in Bedford, Westchester, this virtual turkey trot allows you to create your own adventure while contributing to groundbreaking research organizations. Skip, run, walk, bike, or dance for 1, 3, 5, or 10 miles to support the Love4Lucas Foundation! You can create your own adventure! Gather your family and friends to participate ANYTIME and ANYWHERE from Thursday, November 28 to Sunday, December 1, 2024.
Thanks to our supporters, your generosity allowed us to donate 100% of the proceeds to research organizations dedicated to finding a cure for DIPG. In December 2023, we contributed $50,000 to continue our partnership with DIPG/DMG Collaborative [https://www.dipgcollaborative.org/], joining over 20 foundational partners and supporting long-term DIPG/DMG research. In April 2024, we donated another $50,000 to the Children's Brain Tumor Project [https://www.childrensbraintumorproject.org/], which focuses on furthering research in the understanding of the development of DIPG and improving the outcome for children with brain tumors.

The Love4Lucas Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization created in honor of Lucas Harashima. On September 17, 2016, at the age of 5, Lucas was diagnosed with DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma). DIPG is an aggressive brain tumor that affects children between the ages of 4 and 11 and interferes with all bodily functions. Lucas died on March 21, 2018, just a few months shy of his 7th birthday.
