This vibrant event is not just a race; it’s a celebration of 110 years of dedication by the Lucy Mackenzie Humane Society to serve both animals and the community. Participants can choose between a timed 5K trail run and a fun 1-mile option, making it perfect for runners, walkers, and even our furry friends as dogs are welcome to join in the festivities!
Starting at 10 AM with the 1-mile race, followed by the 5K at 10:30 AM, participants will traverse the beautiful handcrafted trails at the base of Ascutney Mountain. The 5K route will take you across stunning fields, over streams, and through enchanting woods, offering breathtaking views along the way. With a registration fee of $30 for the 5K and $20 for the 1-mile option, every participant who raises at least $110 will receive a complimentary 2025 5K9 t-shirt. The countdown is on for the Lucy Mac 5K9 on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at Ascutney Outdoors!
The Lucy Mac 5K9 is held on the trails at Ascutney Outdoors and is one of Lucy Mackenzie Humane Societys largest fundraising events of the year. This year's event is even more special as Lucy Mackenzie celebrates 110 years of serving animals and people in the community! The Lucy Mac 5K9 offers both a timed 5K route as well as a 1-mile option. Runners and walkers can participate solo, or as a team, and enjoy the thrilling and beautiful trails of Ascutney Mountain all in support of the animals at Lucy Mackenzie Humane Society. As always, dogs are welcome to join in on the fun!
The registration fee is $30 for the 5K trail and $20 for the 1-mile trail.
In honor of our 110th anniversary, every participant that raises at least $110 will receive a free 2025 5K9 t-shirt!
All participants completing the 5K9 will receive a custom Lucy Mac 5K9 medal!
Check-in and registration will be 9 10AM at the Ascutney Outdoors Center located at 449 Ski Tow Road, Brownsville, VT 05037.
THE 1-MILE RACE WILL KICK-OFF AT 10AM, AND THE 5K RACE WILL START AT 10:30AM.
Participants will be treated to a scenic Vermont adventure as they race along handcrafted trails located on the western base of Ascutney Mountain. The 5K trail will lead participants across fields, over streams and through the woods before they finish winding down the ski slopes of the mountain. Views from the course are sure to be spectacular. For those not quite up to the full 5K trail, were also offering a fantastic 1-mile course which is just as much fun.
