Organiser's Description

The Lunartic (Lunar-tic) 5K run/walk is a nighttime event held on the eve of a full moon (or near full moon) along the beautiful shoreline of the Smithville Lake trails. The name was derived from the craziness of running under a full moon! This is a fun, family-friendly event. It is recommended to bring a headlamp or flashlight as it does get very dark under the tree canopy. This chip-timed race will be run point-to-point beginning at the _Smoke and Davey_ trailhead and ending at _Sailboat Cove_. DO NOT park at the start. There is ample parking at the finish and runners will be shuttled to the start line via school bus. The last bus will leave for the starting line at 8:20pm.

The registration fee is $30 if you are registered before midnight August 15. Registration increases to $35 at packet pickup. T-shirts are only guaranteed to those registered before August 7. Because expenses are paid months in advance, there will be no refunds for weather or a forced cancellation by the county or state of Missouri.
