MALVERNE 5K RUN-WALK
THE MALVERNE 5K RUN-WALK FOR EDUCATION IS ORGANIZED BY THE MALVERNE EDUCATIONAL AND FITNESS FOUNDATION (MEFF). THE NET PROCEEDS OF THE 5K RUN GO TO THE MEFF, A NOT-FOR-PROFIT 501(C)(3) ORGANIZATION THAT SUPPORTS YOUTH PROGRAMS WITHIN THE MALVERNE SCHOOL DISTRICT. THE PACKET PICKUP AND DAY-OF-RUN REGISTRATION TAKE PLACE AT MALVERNE HIGH SCHOOL, STARTING AT 7:30 A.M. (SCHOOL LOCATED EAST OF OCEAN AVE.).
The main event, the 5K run, is preceded by a fun run (200 meters) for children aged 10 and under. The fun run starts at 8:30. The start of the kids run is at the intersection of Wicks Ln and N Cambridge Street. Kids (and their parents) run on Wicks Ln toward the start line of the 5K run at H.T. Herber school.
