Join us for the 3rd Annual Matthews Social House Run Club 5K on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at 8 AM in Matthews, Mecklenburg! This exciting race is the perfect way to celebrate the end of the year and kick off your New Year's festivities. The 5K course starts and finishes at Stumptown Park, taking participants on a scenic loop through the Greenway, with a turnaround just past the Squirrel Lake Park marker.
Everyone is welcome to participate, regardless of pace, making this a family-friendly event that encourages all to join in on the fun (please note, family pets are not permitted). Each registration includes a bib, a finisher medal, a long sleeve sports tech shirt, a beer ticket, and a raffle ticket for post-race celebrations at Matthews Social House. The 3rd Annual Run Club 5K event is on SATURDAY, DECEMBER 28, 2024 @ 8 AM is sponsored by Matthews Social House (MSH Run Club). The past two years our end-of-year 5K event was sponsored by Carolina Beer Temple, but it is the same fabulous event, route/location, prizes, and runners from our Run Club and surrounding Clubs.
Please note that this MSH Run Club 5K Race is on SATURDAY, DECEMBER 28.
The last 2 races were held on the morning of New Years Eve, but this year that would fall on a Tuesday and many might be working (sadly) so we moved our event to the Saturday before.
Now you can start your New Years celebrations on the Saturday before, ramp up your excitement with this fabulous MSH Run Club 5K Race @ 8am, rest a bit, go to work if you must, come join our regular Run Club 1-3-5+ Mile run on Tuesday @ 6:45pm, then get ready to party the night away New Years Eve.
Everyone and all paces are welcome to the MSH Run Club 5K - walking is a pace.
THIS IS A FAMILY-FRIENDLY 5K, BUT YOUR FAMILY PETS ARE NOT PERMITTED TO JOIN THE RACE.
Your registration for this hugely popular 5K chip-timed event to cap off your 2024 accomplishments includes the requisite BIB, a Finisher Medal, a long sleeve sports tech/dry fit shirt, a Beer ticket, and a Raffle ticket for the celebrations after the Race at Matthews Social House.
The Race will start and end in Stumptown Park - Matthews and loop thru the Greenway, out and back, with the halfway point turnaround just past the Squirrel Lake Park marker.
Top 3 Finisher (Male & Female) prizes will be awarded immediately following the Race at Stumptown Park. Celebrations will continue at Matthews Social House for beers and a raffle with multiple prizes.
PACKET PICK-UP WILL BE BOTH ON FRIDAY, DECEMBER 27, FROM 4-7 PM AT MATTHEWS SOCIAL HOUSE AS WELL AS ON RACE DAY IN STUMPTOWN PARK.
THERE IS NO SAME-DAY REGISTRATION.
All participants and guests are encouraged to park near Matthews Social House or adjacent public parking areas in Matthews on Race Day.
There is no parking in Stumptown Park and Trade from John St to the Greenway will be closed to traffic for the Race. Plus Post-Race festivities will be held at Matthews Social House.
