Mighty Mountain Run - 5K/10K is a trail run/walk fundraiser for camper scholarships at Caraway Conference Center and Camps located in Sophia, NC about 8 miles west of Asheboro.
The trail run/walk is on the property of Camp Caraway. Come conquer the Mighty Mountain with an over 400 ft elevation climb! Our scenic, well maintained trail is on rolling hills with some gravel, some asphalt, and some trails through a beautiful hard wood forest near a lake.

Located in the Northern Uwharrie Mountains of Central, NC, Caraway and Mundo Vista serve guests year round for overnight retreats, conferences, day meetings, and summer camp programs. This fundraiser will help children and families attend camp that cannot afford to come on their own. The scholarships may be used to attend father-son retreats, mother-daughter retreats, Warrior Camp for Boys, Horizons Camp for Girls, Caraway Mountain Day Camp, Children's Church camp, Winter Camp, and Grand Camp. The Mighty Mountain 5k
This classic course will take you through well maintained trail of rolling hills, gravel, and asphalt through a beautiful hard wood forest near creeks and lakes of Camp Caraway. You will go over the top of Longarm Ridge where you will be rewarded with beautiful mountain views! For our returners, this year's route will be similar to the one from two races ago. _This is the perfect race for both runners and walkers_.
THE MIGHTY MOUNTAIN 10K
You asked, and we listened! Introducing the Mighty Mountain 10k. In this race there will be 2 Mountains to tackle, the familiar Longarm Ridge and new-to-you Orchard Mountain which is the original site where Caraway was founded. In this new challenging course you will gain around 350ft of elevation in the first 1.5 miles. The trail will consist of gravel road, single track dirt/rocky trail, the edge of an 80ft rock face, some great foliage cover and more scenic views. If you love the classic experience, the 10K will not disappoint. _Strict walking of the whole 10k course is strongly discouraged. Mixed running/walking is permitted_.

OPENS 07 JAN 26The Mighty Mountain 10K is a Scholarship Trail Run/Walk that goes to Camp Caraway's Scholarship funds for kids to experience camp that otherwise wouldn't be able to attend. The 10k run is on mixed trail surfaces of gravel, dirt, and stone/dirt mix. There are 2 mountains that you will tackle during the run. Each one has an elevation over 900ft. The bottoms of those climbs will begin around 515-600ft. The first mountain is Orchard Mountain. You will gain a quick 400ft over half a mile from the base to the summit. It has some cool features like an 80ft rock face you will run across as you get to the top. From there, it is a mile down hill until the next climb. The second mountain is called Long Arm Ridge. The base of this climb is at 515ft and will climb up to 960ft over 1.8 miles.
