Organiser's Description
In light of the cancellation of the Twin Cities Marathon, were bringing back the Mill Town Marathon and Half Marathon. A certified, chip-timed, home-grown race thats only been held once previously (during Covid). The previous race was limited to 25 entrants in the marathon and 25 in the half. This year will be limited to 100 total runners. The marathon can be run to qualify for the Boston Marathon.
The route begins in Memorial Park in Dundas and follows paved trails along the east and west sides of the Cannon River to and from Northfield. We will have water stops, finish line food and fun, race bibs, finisher medals, and whatever else we can pull together in 3 short weeks!
About The Course: This looping course was chosen with runners, spectators, and bandits in mind. Its flat - yay! for runners. Spectators get to see runners multiple times rather than only at the start and finish - no waiting for hours or chasing people all over town to see them! Bandits can jump on for one or two 6-mile loops to support their friends.ย
Cost: $50 Any profits will be donated to Project Purple, supporting pancreatic cancer research and patient financial aid.
Packet pick up: Race-day only. No mailouts.
Course records: Brandon Riehm (2:39:19) and Brianne Hoffert (3:38:43) in the marathon and Paul Ellis (1:18:22) and Louise Miltich (1:42:51) for the half.
Thanks to our sponsors: Charmed Running and Fast Finish Results! (More to come. For sponsorship opportunities, please contact Dale Fredrickson, 612.282.0262.)
*Disclaimer: We are not professional race planners. Were a group of runners who got a course certified during Covid and now want to help our friends make use of their summer of training!
