Join us for the Mitchell 5K on Saturday, September 12, 2026, in Kalamazoo, a spirited event dedicated to honoring the memory of Mitchell Yoshikawa through the joy of running. This special race will take place at Heritage Christian Academy, featuring a picturesque cross-country course that winds through beautiful trails. Runners of all ages are invited to participate in this 5K run/walk, with proceeds benefiting various charitable causes including the Heritage Christian Academy Learning Lab, the XC program, and missionary support.
The festivities kick off with packet pickup on Friday, September 11, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, and continue on race day from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM. The race itself starts at 10:00 AM, so be sure to mark your calendars! The entry fee is $30, and participants who register by August 30 will receive a guaranteed event t-shirt, with additional shirts available on a first-come, first-served basis afterward. Awards will be given to the overall male and female winners, as well as division winners across various age brackets. Organiser's Description
This race is to honor Mitchell Yoshikawa's memory through running. All proceeds will be split evenly between Heritage Christian Academy Learning Lab, Heritage Christian Academy XC program, Missionary Support and a charitable donation in Mitchell's name. It is my hope that this race will keep his name and spirit alive for many years to come!!

The race will be 2 laps on Heritage Christian Academy's cross country course. The HCA course is challenging with several hills, off camber areas and sections with uneven ground. The race will begin promptly at 10:00 am, please check in and be to the starting line by 9:40 am for final instructions.
