Organiser's Description
Join us for the MRC Winter Track Showcase at Wesleyan University on Sunday, January 12, 2025!
In MRC fashion, the meet is free for youth under the age of 18 and we've kept the cost low for adults as well - $15. You may compete in as many events as you'd like. While the meet is free for youth, PLEASE do not register unless you are planning to attend; we have very limited capacity compared to our summer meets.
The meet will start at 3:00 p.m. sharp with the girls 1-Mile run
This is a track-only event (no jumps or throws) featuring the following events, in order:
1-Mile
60 meters
1,000 meters
200 meters
600 meters
3,000 meters
Events will be contested youngest to oldest, girls first followed by boys, women, men. We may combine heats and genders in distance events.
For the purposes of competition, youth is anyone from 8th grade and under, while "adult" is high school and above.
You do not need to declare your event(s) or times in advance. We will organize all participants in each events at the starting line. You'll report to the starting line when announced. We will make multiple calls per event. Example: We will call "youth girls 60 meter dash", all competitors report to the starting area, we will then arrange (generally by age) the runners in each heat. Youth heats are generally run by age; for adults, if more than one heat is necessary, it will be self seeding.
Results will be posted within 24-48 hours after the meet.
Notes: Please register based on age. For the purposes of competition, youth is anyone from 8th grade and under, while "adult" is high school and above. For example: a 16 year-old registers as a youth, but competes in the adult races.
- There are no separate non-binary races; run with the division of your choosing.
