Get ready for an exciting day of fitness and fun at the MRTC KIDS! Fall Program on Sunday, October 25, 2026, in beautiful Memphis, Shelby! This lively event is designed to inspire children in the community to embrace the joy of running while learning essential skills and values. Kids will participate in a series of engaging training sessions leading up to the big day, where they will be coached on proper running form, nutrition, and safe exercise practices.
On race day, young athletes will have the opportunity to showcase their hard work with races tailored to their age groups: a thrilling 100-meter dash for ages 4 and under, a 400-meter run for 5-6 year-olds, an 800-meter race for 7-8 year-olds, a 1600-meter challenge for 9-10 year-olds, and a 2400-meter event for 11-13 year-olds. The excitement kicks off at 2:00 PM at Harding Academy on Cherry Rd, and all participants will receive goodies and a Finisher Item to celebrate their achievements! With an entry fee of just $27.50 per child, this is a fantastic opportunity to promote health, activity, and perseverance in a fun and supportive

LET'S GO!!!
The MRTC KIDS! Run program focuses on children in the community and teaches them a sport we all love - running! Training is based on the children's ages and abilities. In the training program the kids learn to maintain proper form when running and how to complete their assigned distance.
MRTC KIDS! Run centers on four core values - NAPS
* Nutrition
* Activity
* Perseverance
* Self-esteem
MRTC KIDS! Run uses RRCA's Kids Run the Nation Program Guide and children are taught that proper nutrition and hydration are important in daily actions.
In addition, our coaches give instruction on how to run safely, the importance of a warm up and cool down, stretching, running etiquette, and how to have fun while you exercise.
Training culminates in their own KIDS-only race. They will get to participate in their race and will receive goodies plus a Finisher Item!
The kids will be broken into appropriate ages and skill levels. We will have skilled coaches for each group.

In case of inclement weather, we will not be planning make up session.
