Event summary
Get ready for an exhilarating journey at the 2025 Lane Purser Memorial Road Race Series, taking place from Sunday, July 13, 2025, to Saturday, November 15, 2025, in the vibrant city of Memphis, Shelby. This exciting series celebrates its 43rd year with a variety of race distances to challenge and inspire runners of all levels. Participants can join for two thrilling 5Ks in July at Audubon Park, followed by two 5-Milers in August at WJ Freeman Park, and two 10Ks in September at Shelby Farms Park. The excitement continues with two 10-Milers in October at Meeman Shelby Forest State Park, culminating in two Half Marathons, including the Big River Crossing Half Marathon, in downtown Memphis.
All races kick off on Sunday mornings at 7:00 AM, with the exception of the final half marathon, which will be held on Saturday at 8:30 AM. Runners who complete all ten races will earn the coveted title of "Road Warrior," while finishers of any six races will be recognized as Series Finishers. BIG RIVER CROSSING HALF MARATHON [https://bigrivercrossing.raceroster.com/]/2ND HALF MARATHON
For our 2nd Half Marathon and final race of the series, we will combine forces with Peer Power's Big River Crossing Half Marathon. This means that when you sign up for the full Road Race Series you are also automatically signed up for the Big River Crossing Half Marathon. You do not need to register for that race separately and it will count as your first half marathon of the series. MRTC is proud to partner with the beneficiary of this race, the Peer Power Foundation. Peer Power's mission is to empower and inspire scholars through their innovative student-to-student tutoring program. Peer Power is active in schools throughout Memphis, serving more than 1,000 students every year. Since its inception in 2005, the program has resulted in significant increases in test scores, scholarship awards, and graduation rates for students involved in the program.
***Please note that the BRX Half/2nd Half Marathon of the RRS is on a SATURDAY (11/15) and not a Sunday like the other races in the series. The first half marathon will be on Sunday 11/2 - business as usual for the RRS participant.
PACKET PICKUP FOR THE ROAD RACE SERIES- TBA
We will also have race day packet pickup.
PACKET PICKUP FOR 2ND HALF/BRX - All Road Race Series participants MUST pick up a Big River Crossing Half race bib. If you aren't wearing a BRX bib, you will not get a time in RRS or BRX results. Wearing your RRS chip will not interfere with the timing system for the BRX so feel free to leave it on your shoe.
REGISTRATION
If you register by June 20th, your bib and chip will be mailed right to your house. It's a great way to skip those packet pick-up lines! Be sure to watch our website OR like us on Facebook for registration announcements. We will be mailing out packets after June 25th.
We WILL NOT have laptops set up for onsite race day registration. The online registration site will remain open, so please register online before leaving your house or you can register on your own personal device at the race.
All participants of the full series will receive a shirt. Single race day registrants will not get a shirt.

The 5Ks are located at Audubon Park near the Cancer Memorial on Perkins. There is plenty of parking on the grass north of the Botanic Gardens off Cherry Rd. You may also park in the field located at the northeast corner of Audubon Park (intersection of Southern and Perkins extended). Please look to the volunteers in the Hi Viz vests to assist you. Please do not park on the grass at Theatre Memphis. -

Parking will be in the grassy area inside gate 10 which provides plenty of parking close to the start and finish lines. -
