This exciting race invites participants aged 13 and older to tackle an adventurous approximately 5-mile single-loop course that promises plenty of muck, mud, and water crossings, all set against the backdrop of challenging hills. As part of the renowned Trail Mix Series, this is the perfect opportunity for runners to kick off their trail racing journey in 2025, aiming to complete at least four of the seven exciting races throughout the year.
With race day registration available for just $35, participants can look forward to a fun-filled day, complete with individual awards for the top three male and female finishers, as well as age group honors. Don’t forget to wear your oldest shoes and clothes, and consider bringing eye goggles to navigate the muddy terrain! The first 100 registrants will receive a tee-shirt, while post-race food will be waiting to refuel your energy. * There will be race day registration ($35)
* All runners compete on the same approximately 5 mile, single loop course.
* The course is run off road, through as much muck, mud and water as we can find.
* Some hills are included.
* Multiple water crossings are present; depth is dependent on pre-race weather.
* Course difficulty is determined by weather.
* Wear old shoes and clothes. Eye goggles recommended.
* Age limit - no runners under 13 years old
* Tee-shirt to first 100, no size guarantees but we'll do our best.
* Individual Awards: Top 3, Male and Female and Age groups.
* Post run food
Mudders and Grunters is now part of the Trail Mix Series.
The 2025 TRAIL MIX SERIES [/Trail%20Mix%20Series] features seven trail races in Westchester and Fairfield Counties. Runners can compete in the series by completing at least 4 of the 7 races in 2025, the first of which is March 23ths Mudders and Grunters. The best four count towards the point totals for the series. If runners complete five, six, or seven of the series races they can drop their lowest race(s) - only counting best 4 races. The other races of the 2025 Series include: Leathermans Loop, Spring Run the Farm, Where the Pavement Ends, Paine to Pain, Run the Farm, and Raven Rocks.
Runners who complete the series get scored and are eligible for overall and age-category recognition and get automatic selection in the Leathermans Loop lottery for following year.
