This beloved event has been a staple of winter running on Long Island, honoring one of the founding members of the Northport Running Club, Joe Latino. Participants will race in teams of three, tackling a scenic 3 x 2 mile relay course through the beautiful Sunken Meadow State Park.
Not only will runners enjoy the adrenaline rush of the race, but the day also promises fun-filled post-race activities! After crossing the finish line, participants can indulge in refreshments and celebrate at Napper Tandy's with a complimentary beverage for those who bring their race bib. With 14 categories available, including youth divisions and masters categories, everyone is encouraged to join in the fun. THE EVENT HAS BEEN A MAINSTAY OF WINTER RUNNING ON LONG ISLAND EVER SINCE IT WAS STARTED BY JOE LATINO, ONE OF NORTHPORT RUNNING CLUB'S FOUNDING MEMBERS. THIS IS THE 47TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE RACE, WHICH WILL CONSIST OF A 3 X 2 MILE RELAY THROUGH THE SCENIC GROUNDS OF SUNKEN MEADOW STATE PARK.
POST RACE ACTIVITIES: REFRESHMENTS SERVED AFTER THE RACE, THEN JOIN US AT NAPPER TANDY'S! BRING YOUR BIB FOR A COMPLIMENTARY BEVERAGE.
