If competing for the top 1-3 places male or female in the 5K, you must meet the minimum dry weight requirement inside your backpack/ruck before anything else, including food and water. We recommend a ruck plate of some sort but its ultimately up to you. Other options for weight include dumbbells, sandbags, or weight plates. Weight vests and ruck plate carriers are allowed.
Men - 30 poundsWomen - 20 poundsKids - 10 pounds (Ages 8-17); 5 pounds (under 8)
If not competing for the top 1-3 places male or female, then the weight you carry is up to you.
The course runs mostly in Dimple Dell Regional Park. Most of the trail is dirt or wood chips while small portions that are used are paved. The race is professionally chip timed. The chips are attached to the back of your bib number. Bibs must be worn on the front of you in order to be accurately timed.
