Founded in 1896 by the Seventh-day Adventist Church to educate newly freed African Americans in the South, Oakwood University has long stood as a beacon of academic excellence, Christian education, and social advancement. Located in Huntsville, Alabama, this historically Black institution continues to live out its motto: Enter to Learn, Depart to Serve.
