Join us for the uplifting One in Five 5K event on Sunday, April 27th, 2025, at FirstPark in Oakland, Kennebec, starting at 9:00 am! This inspiring race encourages participants to run or walk in solidarity against the impact of sexual violence in our communities, highlighting the statistic that one in five people in Maine have been affected by this issue. In honor of Sexual Assault Awareness Month, this 14th annual event serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of support and awareness.
Participants can choose to join us in person or opt for the virtual race extended through May 11th, allowing everyone to participate in a way that suits them best. Families are welcome, as strollers and friendly, leashed dogs are encouraged to join the fun! Best of all, 100% of the proceeds will benefit the Sexual Assault Crisis & Support Center, providing crucial services for survivors of sexual abuse in Kennebec and Somerset counties. Be part of this meaningful event and help make a difference in your community!

On Sunday, April 27th, 2025 at FirstPark in Oakland at 9:00 am, people will be running or walking in solidarity against the harsh reality of the impact of sexual violence in our Maine communities. Inspired by the current Maine statistic of an estimated ONE in FIVE people in Maine have been affected by sexual violence (Muskie School of Public Policy, Maine Crime Victimizations Rates, 2011), the Sexual Assault Crisis & Support Center is hosting the 14th annual One in Five 5k race. You can choose to sign up for the virtual race which we have extended to May 11th, or you can join us at FirstPark on April 27th. This event is taking place in the month of April to honor Sexual Assault Awareness Month!
