Participants can look forward to a fun-filled day that includes a 5k walk and run, starting at 8:30 AM, along with a Kid's Fun Run at 9:45 AM.
This community event not only celebrates Orlando's passion for sports but also raises funds for a scholarship in his name, aimed at supporting a deserving graduate from the Horseheads School District. Race day registration and packet pickup begin at 7:30 AM, with early packet pickup available on June 25th. Compete for fantastic awards, including $100 for both the overall male and female winners (ages 20 and older), and $50 for youth winners (19 and younger). Medals will be awarded to the top 200 finishers, making this a memorable day for all involved. Join us for the annual Memorial 5k Walk & Run in loving memory of Orlando Josiah Vargas. This event honors the life of our cherished son, who tragically passed away just before his 6th birthday. Orlandos passion for sports and his joy in playing with friends continue to inspire us which is why we host this community 5k walk/run each year, including a fun run for kids. In his honor, we are raising funds to create a scholarship in Orlando Josiahs name, benefiting a deserving graduate of the Horseheads School District. We invite you to come together with us to remember, celebrate, and support this special cause.
