Get ready for an exciting day of athleticism and fun at the Otter Romp Youth Triathlon, taking place on Sunday, June 8th, 2025, at the Keene Family YMCA in beautiful Keene, Cheshire! This vibrant event welcomes young triathletes aged 5 to 12 to dive into the world of endurance sports. Participants will showcase their skills across various distances, starting with a swim in the YMCA pool, followed by a bike ride on a completely closed course on Summit Road, and concluding with a spirited run on the YMCA grounds.
Race distances vary by age group, ensuring an inclusive and competitive environment for all participants. The youngest athletes (ages 5-6 and 7-8) will swim 50 yards, bike 1.25 miles, and run 0.62 miles, while those in the 9-10 category will tackle a 100-yard swim, 2.5-mile bike, and 0.62-mile run. In 2022 the Keene Family YMCA and the Burns Heisler Family partnered to bring you the first youth triathlon to be held at the Keene YMCA. We are excited to continue that tradition in 2025 and welcome new triathletes to the endurance sports family.
Your race registration includes a t-shirt, finishers medal, and age group awards three deep in two-year age groups (5-6, 7-8, 9-10, and 11-12). The swim takes place in the Keene Family YMCA pool, the bike is held on a completely closed bike course on Summit Road, and the run takes places on the YMCA grounds at 200 Summit Road in Keene.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EQUIPMENT
All participants mut be able to swim a minimum of 25 yards without a flotation device, and are required to bring the following:
* Bicycle with Pedals (training wheels are OK)
* Bicycle Helmet
* Sneakers
* Bathing Suit
* Goggles
* Towel
Your race registration includes a t-shirt, finishers medal, and age group awards three deep in two-year age groups (5-6, 7-8, 9-10, and 11-12).
