Organiser's Description
The Pike's Peak and Beyond Vertical Challenge is a virtual climb up Pikes Peak (and other milestones along the way) via Jacob's Ladder in Cameron Park, Waco, TX. Each 88 step climb up Jacob's Ladder is approximately a 70 ft. elevation gain. So, to complete the 5,530 ft. trek up Pikes Peak you will be climbing Jacob's Ladder 79 times. For the technically inclined, we are using the mountain peaks "prominence" (relative height) as the elevation gain.
You have from January 1st to January 31st to complete the challenge. No sweat! Thats just a little more than 2 climbs up Jacobs Ladder per day (or 18 climbs per week). Everyone that reaches the top of Pike's Peak will be entered in a drawing for a free prize to be held in early February.
