Our annual 5K runs through the Pleasant Valley subdivision and into the neighboring Fairfax County trail system.
For those really looking to demonstrate their summer fitness, take on the Aquathlon Challenge, a 150m pool swim followed by a 5K run.
In the afternoon, we'll continue our beloved neighborhood tradition with our dog swim, when the pool will be reserved exclusively for some very good boys.
All proceeds directly support the Pleasant Valley Pool in Chantilly. Your participation makes a vital difference in keeping this community resource thriving.

The scenic 5K course winds through the streets of the quiet Pleasant Valley Neighborhood. After the neighborhood, the course heads out on the Flat Lick Stream Valley/Cub Run nature trail that is filled with peaceful forest views. Finally, youll loop back through the neighborhood towards the Pleasant Valley Pool to finish. The 5K course is best described as rolling with a few moderate hills. The course is paved. There are no time limits on the course. Walkers and runners are equally welcome at this event! Each participant will receive a Race Shirt. All proceeds from this all-volunteer event will go towards the Pleasant Valley Recreation Association for capital improvements on the pool. -
Aquathlon Challenge - Swim + 5K Run

Let's get wild and combine swimming with running! Seed yourself based on your swim speed at registration, and begin the event with a refreshing swim in the Pleasant Valley Pool. You will have do a snake swim and transition to your running gear. The scenic 5K course winds through the streets of the quiet Pleasant Valley neighborhood. After the neighborhood, the course heads out on the Flat Lick Stream Valley/Cub Run nature trail that is filled with peaceful forest views. Then, youll head back into serenity of the Cub Run nature trail and loop back to the Pleasant Valley Pool to finish. The 5K course is best described as rolling with a few moderate hills. The course is paved. There are no time limits on the 5K course. Walkers and runners are equally welcome at this event! Each participant will receive a Race Shirt. All proceeds from this all-volunteer event will go towards the Pleasant Valley Recreation Association for capital improvements on the pool. -

Run Anywhere in the World! Support the Pleasant Valley Pool by participating in the PV 5K Virtual Run. Run 5K at a location of your choosing and text or email in your results. All virtual runners will receive a race shirt. You will receive your shirt approximately up to two weeks after the event. Your virtual run can take place on a day of your choosing. Encourage your friends to register and run with you! If you are interested in organizing a group at your location with 6 or more runners, wed love to hear from you. Dog Swim

The dogs make a splash! We've had the neighborhood dogs go for a swim at the end of every pool season, but now we're opening the event to dogs from all over! This is NOT a swim event for the human owners/families though, as we will not have lifeguards present.
