HAPPY NEW YEAR!

To start 2024, Peninsula Track Club presents the New Year's Day 2024 5K - Runner & Walker category available. The course is run through the scenic Newport News Park and is considered fast and nearly flat. Runners, walkers, and strollers are welcome. There will be course Judges to verify walkers. York High School Cross-country / Track & Field will be the event coordinator and volunteers. Proceeds will assist with YHS XC/TF equipment, uniforms, and expenses associated with their events. There is no runsignup fees prior to race day. Race day sign up will have runsignup fees.

T-SHIRT UPDATE: WE ORDERED T-SHIRTS ON DEC 5TH GIVING SIZE PRIORITY TO THOSE WHO MET THE CUTOFF DATE OF DEC 4TH REGISTRATION. AS OF 6:00 AM, DEC 31ST, ALL T-SHIRTS HAVE BEEN ASSIGNED. IF YOU DO NOT RECEIVE A T-SHIRT AT BIB PICK UP, YOU CAN CHECK BACK AFTER COMPLETION OF THE EVENT TO SEE IF THERE ARE ANY UNCLAIMED T-SHIRTS.

JANUARY 1, 2024:

9:15 - 10:15 AM BIB & SHIRT PICK UP at Newport News Park, picnic shelters 19 & 20, across the street from the Ranger's Station

10:30 RACE START: On Constitution Way in front of the Ranger's Station headed toward Jefferson Ave.

~11:15 am AWARDS: -- Coffee mug and beanie for top three male and female finisher. Beanie for age group awards 19 and under, 70 and over and five years age groups between. There are no finisher medals for this event.

ONLINE REGISTRATION WILL CLOSE AT NOON ON DECEMBER 31, 2023.
RACE DAY REGISTRATION WILL OPEN AT 9:15 am, JANUARY 1, 2024. Race day registration is $50 cash or $50 if paid via RunSignUp (fee) which will open back up at 9:15 am on race day. See Thomas Tate for race day sign up at BIB pick up.
