EARLY PACKET PICKUP: An early packet pickup will take place from 4-7pm on Friday, November 22nd at Bird's Eye Outfitters!
PROCEEDS: A percentage of proceeds will benefit Diane Peppler Resource Center. The Diane Peppler Resource Center provides emergency shelter, crisis hotline, legal advocacy, and other services for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault in Michigan. 100% of donations in excess of registration will also be given to DPRC!
VOLUNTEERS: If you would like to volunteer at packet pickup on race day, help with course setup, or an aid station please contact [email protected]. Volunteers will be given a free race entry at the current or a future Yooper Running Company hosted event.
COURSE: The course will follow Portage Avenue East with River Views and many historical Sault Sainte Marie Landmarks along the route. The turnaround will be a lollipop loop inside Aune-Osborn Campground. Runners and walkers can use the bike lane which will be lined with cones along the course or the sidewalk. The most efficient way to run it would be to use the bike lane against traffic flow on the way out and the side-walk on the way back.
AWARDS + MUGS: Custom Mugs designed by Oaklawn Laser Works will be given to all participants who finish. There is a picture of the mugs on yooperrunning.com. Overall awards will be given to the overall gender winners, master winners (40-59), and grand master (60+) winners. Age group awards will be given to 1st place in each age group. Age groups consist of 0-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+. Refreshments and snacks will be given to all participants. There are no medals for this race. We will be doing a random bib draw for additional awards beyond overall and age group.
WEATHER: Weather during this time of the year will likely be within the historical average high of 42 degrees and low of 29 degrees. Being a morning race, prepare for temps in the high 20s, lower to mid 30s for the race with a chance of snow!
