Participants can choose between competitive and non-competitive 5K events, with only the competitive race qualifying for enticing cash prizes. Runners of all levels are encouraged to take part, with age group and gender awards available for every participant. Every registered runner will receive a finisher medallion and an exclusive Race Day event t-shirt. Plus, the race features a chip-timed, certified 5K course (IL21011NM) to ensure accurate results. Organiser's Description
The Little Village Rotary Club presents the 5th Annual CARRERA POR PAZ, or RACE FOR PEACE, a community 5K Run/Walk Event. This event's objective is to promote anti-violence by supporting youth programs in Chicagos Little Village and surrounding communities. Proceeds of this race will be invested into the community in the form of renewable grants, youth development, and job training.
Race for Peace will have both competitive and non-competitive 5K in-person events. Only the competitive 5K in-person event will qualify runners for the cash prizes. All of the 5K in-person events will qualify runners for the age group and gender awards.
All registered runners will receive a finisher medallion and Race Day event t-shirt.
Cash prizes will be awarded for the top three runners, both men and women categories.
The race is chip-timed on a certified 5K course (IL21011NM).

Participants of this 5K event DO NOT qualify for cash prizes, but do qualify for age group and gender awards.
