To celebrate The New Year, Relevant Running brings you another of our signature "live virtual" races!



Join us on Saturday January 3rd 2026 for the RACE INTO THE NEW YEAR "LIVE VIRTUAL" 5K/10K. This is no ordinary virtual race. It's a unique virtual running (or walking) event, with thousands of runners and walkers who have already experienced and love our live virtual race format. Among other things, there is a scheduled race date and start time, a virtual check in and start via text or Facebook live-stream on race day morning, timekeeping (participants will text screenshots or pictures of their chosen method of time and distance keeping), a private and active Facebook group dedicated to our runners and walkers. All participants will receive the one of a kind custom RACE INTO THE NEW YEAR 5K/10K medal with age group and overall winners receiving engraving of their time and placement on the back of their medal!



******* If you cannot or do not wish participate on the scheduled race date of Jan. 3rd 2026 during the race window (7am to 11am Eastern time USA on race day), you can absolutely still register. Please select the "medal only" option, and we'll ship you your medal about a week prior to the race date so you can run it whenever you want. But, keep in mind, you won't be eligible for age group awards (engraving for your medal) or to be counted among the "official" times posted after race day Jan. 3rd.



All registered runners should join private Facebook Group for access to positive discussions and posts regarding our live virtual races and challenges, race day live-stream virtual check-in and virtual start. Please note, it is NOT required to join the Facebook group to participate. If youre not on Facebook you will have the option to check in and submit your time on race day via TEXT.

Race Date virtual check in and start time: Sat. January 3rd, 2026. Virtual check-in via text OR live-stream in the Facebook group above starts at 7:00am Eastern time USA. Virtual race start at 8:00am Eastern time USA. The live-stream will be going while you are running/walking, and we will be waiting for you to complete your 5k or 10k during the race day window of 8am to 11am Eastern time USA. As noted above, if you cannot participate on/at the scheduled race date/time during the race day window, you can absolutely still register using the medal only option. Your medal will still be shipped. But, you won't be eligible for age group awards, or to be counted among the "official" times posted after race day.



Pricing includes USPS 1st Class shipping and the registration link is priced to include shipping costs within the Continental United States. Any participants outside the Continental United States may have an extra shipping charge, and will be contacted by the Race Director with the amount.



Timekeeping for live virtual participants on the Jan. 3rd race day: Given the unique nature of each participant's situation, we will accept proof of completed 5k or 10k on race day via text only (to be provided in pre-race emails). For example: Treadmill participants may text a picture of their treadmill console. Or, phone app users may screenshot their completed race on their phone app and text the picture. Or, participants using a fitness watch may snap a pic of their watch-face and text it in. It is entirely the participant's choice, and responsibility to choose where you run/walk your race, and follow all your own local laws, directives, regulations, etc. Your texted proof of time and distance must be received by 11am Eastern time on race day.



Results for those who choose to run or walk competitively will be published in the Facebook Group and emailed to participants.
