Join us for this unforgettable experience where runners and walkers are welcome! Don't forget to bring your leashed dogs, or you can even walk a friendly pup from the local animal shelter. The race courses promise to be challenging and engaging, taking you along taxiways, trails, and picturesque ponds. Organiser's Description
Whether you are a seasoned runner or just looking for a fun way to experience the Currituck County Campus and regional airport, these courses will deliver! This event is a collaboration between multiple organizations, and we are proud to offer a variety of races including a 1-mile fun run a 5k as well as a scenic 10-k.
We are honored to support Kids First, Inc. whose mission is to provide Help, Healing, and Hope to children in northeastern North Carolina who have been abused or neglected. Please know that 100% of the proceeds from this event will go directly to Kids First, Inc.
Runners and walkers' welcome! We recommend that strollers and dogs (leash required) start at the back. If you don't have a pup and want to walk one, let us know and the local animal shelter will provide a friendly dog that will certainly enjoy the experience with you!
These challenging courses are very unique; maps are soon to come! The 10K and 5k go down a taxiway around hangars back onto a taxiway, then out onto a mix of trails, dirt and pave roads. You may see wildlife as you go around several ponds.

OVERALL Male and Female -- Propeller Trophy
Age Division -- Trophies to first 2 male and first 2 female finishers in each age category - 19 & under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 & up;
Trophies awarded to top male and top female active military or veteran. -- Propeller Trophy
5K:
Overall Male and Female -- Propeller Trophy
Age Division -- Trophies to first 2 male and first 2 female finishers in each age category - 19 & under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 & up;
1 MILE TAXI-TROT: All competitors will receive their pilot's wings and race medal.
WHEELCHAIR DIVISION: Top Male and Top Female.
**All finishers in each race will receive a race medal. DUE TO WHEN THE SHIRTS HAVE TO BE ORDERED ONCE WE REACH 200 PARTICIPANTS SHIRTS ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE REGISTRATION PRICE. PROCEEDS WILL GO TO KIDS FIRST.
Stay after the race to enjoy the free Planes and Plows festival which will host multiple vendors, games, food trucks and plane rides. There is a parade at 10:00 and a flyover around 1:30 p.m.

CLOSEDThe course starts behind the College of the Albemarle on the tarmac inside the airport. Parking is the same as last year, just a better spot for the start and finish. There are new taxiways being built this year. The course will alter to include running down these taxiways as they will not be active by race day. Also, more pavement this year, but still a difficult trail run. Multiple terrains, grass, dirt, road! Still beautiful scenery as you go down the taxiway out onto county property and around multiple ponds. -
Flight Deck 5k

CLOSEDWe are really excited about all the changes to the 5k course. What you cannot see in the map is the new taxiway that you will be running on. It is under construction and will pass by the lake. Much more pavement this year, but don't be fooled there is still multiple terrains. -
