Race the Runway 5K is back for its second year, and we are ready for takeoff!

We are partnering with PGV Airport and the Red Oak Community Rural Volunteer Fire Department to put on a one-of-a-kind event that gives registered participants the unique opportunity to run, walk, or simply experience the actual flight line. Whether you are chasing a personal best, enjoying a walk with friends, bringing the family out for a memorable morning, or you just really love aircrafts and firetrucks, this event is designed to be welcoming, fun, and community-centered.

Participants will enjoy:
- Access to the actual airport flight line
- Staged aircraft displays

- Firetruck experiences
- A fun and welcoming 5K route
- Opportunities for runners, walkers, and aviation/firetruck enthusiasts
- Raffle giveaways

- Canned food drive (w/ a prize for the race participant who donates the most!)

Junior League of Greenville, NC's mission is to advance womens leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration, and training that strengthens Greenville and Pitt County. The Red Oak Community Rural Volunteer Fire Department's mission is to provide the best fire protection, rescue, and first responder services, to local citizens and businesses in a professional, quick and courteous manner while Protecting Life and Property through their volunteer action.

Proceeds from this event equally help support the Junior League of Greenville, NC's service efforts across Pitt County, including our work addressing food insecurity and supporting children, families, and community partners through hands-on service and local collaboration, as well as supports the Red Oak Community Rural Volunteer Fire Department's volunteer firefighting, training, safety equipment, and emergency response resources that help protect our community.
