Get ready for an exciting spring of running at the Rapides Junior Runners 2025 Spring Series! Kicking off on Saturday, February 8th and concluding on Saturday, March 22nd, this event will take place in the vibrant community of Pineville, Rapides. Designed for young athletes aged 3 to 16, the series features three thrilling races where kids can showcase their running talents.
Participants aged 3 to 5 will enjoy a fun and untimed 1/2 mile run, earning a participation medal for their efforts. For those aged 6 to 16, the choice of distances includes either 1 mile or 2 miles, providing an opportunity to compete in their preferred category throughout the series. Each young runner will receive a bib number to wear proudly during all three events, and awards will be presented to the top three male and female finishers in each age group. With races scheduled for February 8th, March 1st, and March 22nd, it promises to be a fantastic experience filled with camaraderie and competition. Join us in celebrating the joy of running and make unforgettable memories this spring!

Organiser's Description
Rapides Junior Runners Spring Series will host 3 races in February and March for kids aged 3 to 16. Various distances are run, depending on the child's age and preference: 3-5 year olds will run 1/2 mile - untimed but will receive a participation medal; 6-16 year olds will choose the preferred distance of 1 mile or 2 miles during the initial registration.
Once registered, racer will run this distance every event. If the racer chooses to change distances, please email organizers or inform organizers at the registration tent on race morning prior to running. Two-mile participants will register as individual participants only - no team competitions in the spring season.
Upon individual registration, each participant will receive a bib number. Please keep the same bib for all 3 races and pin to the front of the racer's shirt - top and bottom - for all three races. The racer must have a bib number to participate. If the racer's bib number is lost or forgotten, replacement bib numbers will be available for purchase at the race venue for a cost of $10.
Awards will be presented following the conclusion of the morning races and will include male and female top three for each age group: male and female - 6 years; male and female - 7 years; male and female - 8 years; male and female - 9 years; male and female - 10 years; male and female - 11 years; male and female -12 years; male and female - 13 years; male and female - 14 years; male and female - 15 years; male and female - 16 years.

* For all scheduled races - 1 Milers run at 8:00 sharp; rolling start for 1/2 mile at approximately 8:15; 2 mile rolling start at approximately 8:45.
* We start the races as close to these times as possible. Please be at race site at least 15 minutes prior to above listed race time.
