This vibrant event is designed for young athletes aged 3 to junior high, featuring four thrilling races that cater to various age groups and skill levels. Runners aged 3-5 will tackle a half-mile course, while those aged 6-11 will compete in a one-mile race, and participants aged 12-14 can challenge themselves with a two-mile run.
Set against the scenic backdrop of the Ward 9 Sports Complex, the races are chip-timed and offer a true cross-country experience. Each young runner will receive a chipped bib, a goody bag, and a medal upon finishing their race. Plus, awards will be presented to the top three finishers in each age group, celebrating their achievements in style! Organiser's Description
Rapides Junior Runners Fall Series provides 4 races in September and October for kids aged 3 to junior high. Various distances are run, depending on the child's age: 3-5 runs 1/2 mile; 6-11 runs 1 mile; 12-14 will run 2 miles. For the fall series, two mile participants can either register as an individual participant or participate with their Junior High School team via school coach. All races are chip timed. The course is a true cross-country course, closed to traffic and utilizes the grounds of Ward 9 Sports Complex, 3311 Donahue Ferry Road, Pineville, LA 71360.
Upon individual registration, each participant will receive a chipped bib and a goody bag. T-shirts will be optional and will be available to pre-order or to print on demand on the morning of September 6. For a pre-order, please either contact us or Parish Press at 318-541-6913 or email [email protected]. The cost is $15 per shirt and will be paid to Parish Press upon order. Day of event print to order shirts are $20.
Please keep the same bib for all 4 races. If you happen to misplace or forget your child's bib number, replacement bib numbers will be available for purchase at the race venue for a cost of $10.
Every one mile and half mile finisher will receive a medal at the finish line each race.
Awards will be presented following the conclusion of the 1 mile race and will include male and female top three for each age: male and female - 6 years; male and female - 7 years; male and female - 8 years; male and female - 9 years; male and female - 10 years; male and female - 11 years; male and female -12 years. Two mile team competitors will receive team awards.

* For all scheduled races - 1 Mile first at 8:00 am, 1/2 mile following conclusion of 1 mile race, 2 mile race at approximately 8:45.
* We start the races as close to these times as possible. Please be at race site at least 15 minutes prior to above listed race time.
Upon individual registration, each participant will receive a chipped bib and a goody bag. Keep your original bib number for all 4 races! Replacement bibs available to purchase for $10 on race morning - only if needed. Please stay in finish line area with your child while waiting for your child's race. Once one race finishes, we will make an announcement via the speaker for the next age group to warm up then be walked to the start line. You are welcome to accompany your child to the start line.
