The Louisiana Highway Safety Commission is hosting 1 MILLION STEPS TO SAFETY, a 5K run/walk event held in person. This event aims to bring all road users together to celebrate Pedestrian Safety Month. People from across Louisiana are welcome to participate in the run or walk.
MISSION:
Our mission is to promote and improve highway safety in Louisiana through education, awareness, and community engagement.
VISION:
Our vision is to create a safer road environment for all users, reducing serious injuries and fatalities through proactive safety initiatives.
CORE VALUES:
Safety: We prioritize the safety of all road users in everything we do.
Collaboration: We believe in working together with communities, organizations, and individuals to achieve our goals.
Education: We are committed to providing educational resources and programs to promote safe driving habits.

Participants who register after October 2, 206, are not guaranteed an event shirt. Shirt availability and sizes will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
WEATHER:
We will make every reasonable effort to hold the event as scheduled. However, in the event of inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, the event may be postponed or canceled. If cancellation is necessary, all registration fees will be considered charitable donations and will not be refunded. We appreciate your understanding and support of our cause.
