Join us for the heartfelt Reid-y To Swim 5K & Motorcycle Ride on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at the beautiful Greatest Generation Memorial Park in Thomaston, Upson. This uplifting community event is dedicated to honoring the memory of sweet toddler Gavin Reid Hansrote, who tragically left us too soon. Participants can look forward to a scenic 5K run that begins at the playground and meanders along a picturesque, shaded paved trail.
The day kicks off with registration starting at 9:00 AM, followed by the race and motorcycle ride at 10:00 AM. Awards will be presented to the top three runners in various age groups, making it a fun and competitive atmosphere. Not only will you enjoy an invigorating day of running and riding, but your participation will also support a meaningful cause, as all proceeds will go towards providing local children with swim lessons and essential water safety resources. Bring your family, enjoy the playground and splash pad, and help us celebrate family and community while making a difference. Let’s come together to honor Gavin and work towards a future where 1 in 4 becomes zero.

Organiser's Description
May 10, 2024 our family tragically lost our sweet toddler, Gavin Reid Hansrote. Our family loves to run, be outside, and Gavin loved to ride his horse scooter. Reid-y To Swim 5K and Fun Day will be in honor of our sweet baby. This community event will be held at Greatest Generation Memorial Park Thomaston, GA. The route will start at the playground and go through the (paved) trail and back. The route is beautiful and mostly shaded. All of the proceeds raised during the race will be donated to local children in need of swim lessons and other water safety resources.
