WELCOME BACK TO NORRIS-PENROSE EVENTS CENTER / BEAR CREEK PARK!
Jan 1, 1979, the Rescue Run Start/Finish was at Norris-Penrose Events Center. In 1995, we moved the Rescue Run to Palmer Park. In 2021, due to the Covid Pandemic we held a Virtual Rescue Run. For the 2022 event, we took the course back to its roots at Norris-Penrose. But rather than run on the streets as we did in the 80's and 90's, we run on the trails of Bear Creek Park East.
* LOCATION: Start/Finish Norris-Penrose Events Center [https://g.page/norrispenrose?share] 1045 Lower Gold Camp Rd, Colorado Springs, CO 80905
* START TIME: 5K and 10K start together at 10:00 am. If you prefer a more spread out start, or need a few extra minutes, the start will be available for approximately 10 minutes after the group starts. Please cross starting line timing mats by 10:10 am
* REGISTRATION: No race day registration. Online registration ends Dec 31, 6:00 pm Mountain Time.
* TRAIL CONDITIONS: Please expect ice in places on trails, and especially wooden bridges. There are shaded areas down near the creek which will hold ice from any recent snow. Wearing shoe traction is at your discretion
* PARKING: There are two large lots with plenty of parking available. Please allow time to enter the center and get parked. The southern lot, closest to start/finish closes at 9:20 to allow kids races in the lot. At that time all traffic is directed to the northern lot.
* POTTIES: We add more every year, but there is always a line. Please allow time. If you are in line and the race starts, don't panic, the starting mat will still be active.
