Welcome to the Rubey Rescue Runa dog-friendly mountain challenge for a great cause! This 5K uphill race climbs 1,700 vertical feet along Buttermilks summer road, starting at the base near Buttermilk Mountain Lodge (formerly known as Bumps) and finishing at the iconic Cliff House with panoramic views of the Maroon Bells. Whether you're running solo or with your pup, this high-altitude adventure supports a feel-good mission with all proceeds supporting the Aspen Animal Shelter. Race Day Details: Saturday, October 11, 2025 Pick-up packet- 7:15 am-8:00 am Race begins: 8:30 am Buttermilk Ski Area, 38700 CO-82, Aspen, CO 81611 3.1 miles, 1,700 feet of elevation gain Prizes awarded at 10:00 am on the Cliffhouse deck Water stations for both dogs and humans will be located at mile 1, mile 2.2 and at the Cliff House. Prizes for the top 3 female and male adult finishers, and first place prize for top youth (16 and under). PLEASE remember to bring your own water bottle. We will provide dog bowls at the aid stations.
