RUN LIKE A GIRL is a walk/run event to spread awareness and fight for justice for women and victims and survivors of sexual violence.
DATE/TIME: April 19th, 2026 at 11:30am check in. Run/walk starts at 12 noon. The event start and check-in reception will be outside of the UHY on the sidewalk/pavement.
LOCATION: Marcelle Athletic Complex, baseball field, Siena University Campus
DISTANCE: 1.5 miles. This number is from the statistic conducted by the National Sexual Violence Resource Center (NSVRC) that 1 in 5 women in the United States experienced completed or attempted rape during their lifetime. Attendees can run/walk the route twice if they wish to go a longer distance.
WHO: The event is open to all in the community, Siena University and Union College students, athletes, and faculty/staff.
COST: Free. Donations to Unity House of Troy are appreciated. We will be collecting feminine hygiene products at the event. (pads, tampons and pantiliners)
