All proceeds will benefit the Sawyer's Race for Research, which is dedicated to funding critical research for TFP (trifunctional protein) deficiency, a life-threatening metabolic disorder affecting children like Sawyer Burch.
The day kicks off with a Walk and Kids Run at 8:00 AM, followed by the 5K Run starting at 8:05 AM. Participants of all ages are welcome, and there will be awards for the overall male and female winners, as well as age group awards for participants aged 14 and under, up to 60 and over. Join us in making a difference while enjoying a day of community spirit, fitness, and fun! Your participation can help transform lives by supporting vital research at UPMC Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh. Benefiting SAWYERS RACE FOR RESEARCH
In 2021 Sawyer Burch was diagnosed with TFP. His family is committed to helping Sawyer and other children with life-threatening metabolic disorders. To date our community has raised over $300,000. Put on your cape, you too can become a super hero!
TFP Mitochondrial beta-oxidation trifunctional protein (TFP) deficiency impairs the body's ability to generate cellular energy. Symptoms can lead to frequent hospitalizations and premature death. 100% of proceeds will go toward funding TFP research at UPMC Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh and will help children fighting this and other metabolic disorders.
