RWJBarnabas Health's Running with the Devils 5K Run & Walk 2024

RWJBarnabas Health and the New Jersey Devils have teamed up for the 8th annual RWJBarnabas Health Running with the Devils 5K Run & Walk to celebrate their collective commitment to promoting healthy, active lifestyles to build stronger, healthier communities. This event also honors the selfless and heroic efforts of the more than 41,000 RWJBarnabas Health's healthcare workers who work tirelessly to provide essential care to communities throughout New Jersey. Thanks to your support, along with the New Jersey Devils, RWJBarnabas Health can continue to provide our patients and their families with the comprehensive healthcare they need whenever they need it.



This year, we will again hold the competitive 5K race on a USATF-certified course and the Wellness Walk along Cherry Lane and the scenic reservoir at South Mountain Recreation Complex. Additional fun activities are planned post-race at the award-winning Essex County Turtle Back Zoo. All registered runners and walkers receive free admission to the Zoo following the race. We hope you will join us for an action-packed day filled with wellness activities, animal sightings, and much more!



For individuals and families not available to participate in the live event, the virtual format offers the option to run or walk around a neighborhood, at a local park, or even on a treadmill from October 3 to November 3 using the RunGo App. Virtual runners and walkers will hear custom audio messages of support and encouragement from New Jersey Devils players and RWJBarnabas Health patients via the RunGo App. Virtual participants will receive FREE access to Turtle Back Zoo between November 4 and December 30.



Exciting fundraising incentives are offered for individuals and teams based on benchmarks of $100, $250, $500, $1000, and $2,500. These incentives are highlighted by tickets to New Jersey Devils games, signed New Jersey Devils merchandise, and the opportunity to engage with players/alums, among other items. Awards will be presented to the top three finishers and in multiple age categories (Live and Virtual).



This year, we have introduced the Running with the Devils 5K Skate for members of the New Jersey Devils Youth Hockey Club. The RWJBarnabas Health Running with the Devils 5K Skate, open only to New Jersey Devils Youth Hockey Club members, will take place on Friday, October 4, from 6:30 p.m. 7:30 p.m. at Codey Arena, 650 Northfield Avenue, West Orange. Check-in opens at 5:30 p.m. New Jersey Devils Youth Hockey Club players should enter the team-supplied code when registering. Players who fundraise at least $20 are eligible for medals, giveaways, and additional prizes.



All proceeds from the Race, Walk, Virtual and Skate events will support RWJBarnabas Health's efforts to protect and build healthier communities throughout New Jersey.
