This virtual race is not just about the miles; it's about giving back to Hugs Café, an organization dedicated to creating opportunities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Organiser's Description
This virtual run marks my 1,000th consecutive day of running, and I cant think of a better way to celebrate this milestone than by giving back to a place that means so much to meHugs Caf'e.
We are in the final stretch of a $10,000,000 capital campaign to build the new Hugs Caf'e Training Academy & Headquarters, and we are currently $650,000 from the finish line. Construction is already underway, and watching this building take shape makes it clear that the need for support is real and its happening right now.
I have the honor of serving on the Board of Directors at Hugs Caf'e, and through that role Ive seen firsthand the impact this organization has on individuals and families, as well as the incredible dedication behind this next chapter.
One of the things I love most about being part of this community is how consistently people show up for one another. Hugs Caf'e exists because of that generosity, and this building is becoming a reality because our community believes in creating opportunity, dignity, and belonging for others.
Every donationno matter the amounthelps move this project forward and brings us closer to opening a permanent home where adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities can train, work, and thrive. For those who feel called to make a larger or different kind of gift, there are additional giving opportunities available beyond this run.
Thank you for running with me, supporting this mission, and being part of a community that truly takes care of its own. Together, mile by mile and brick by brick, we can finish this.
