Get ready for an exciting day of athleticism and fun at the Sherando Youth Triathlon on Sunday, August 2, 2026, in beautiful Stephens City, Frederick! Celebrating its 13th year, this vibrant event invites young athletes to take on the challenge of swimming, biking, and running in a supportive and energetic environment. Participants will race in various age groups, with distances tailored to their levels: ages 7-8 will tackle a 25-meter swim, a 1-mile bike ride, and a 0.5-mile run; ages 9-10 will swim 75 meters, bike 3 miles, and run 1 mile; while both the 11-12 and 13-15 age groups will swim 125 meters, bike 3 miles, and run 1 mile.
In addition to the thrilling competition, all participants will receive a finisher medal, and awards will be presented to the top three male and female competitors in each age group. For those new to the sport, don’t miss the opportunity to attend the free Sherando Youth Triathlon Workshop! This triathlon will challenge your child in their age group with a swim, bike ride in Sherando Park, and a run utilizing a portion of the Sherando High School Track.

AGE AND DISTANCE:
