Join us in beautiful Somerset MA this September for the first annual Shirley May France 10k Road Race, hosted by the Somerset Economic Development Committee, and presented by Bank 5 . The race will be held in honor of Shirley May France, who attempted to swim the English Channel in 1948 and 1949 as a teenager, the second time coming within 1 mile of completing. The race will take place on historic Riverside Avenue circling around Dublin, High, then South Street returning to Riverside and ending at the Comfort Zone on Riverside Avenue for an after party at the Comfort Zone.
Proudly presented by the Somerset Economic Development Committee, the goal of the race is to stimulate business for our local establishments in town; several staples of the community are located within walking distance of the start/finish line including the following:
