Get ready for a unique and exhilarating experience at the Side Pockets 0.5k Beer Run, "Barks, Brews & Running Shoes," happening on Saturday, June 7th, 2025, in Wichita, Sedgwick! This isn’t your typical race; participants will tackle a fun-filled 0.5k (just about 546 yards) that promises laughter and enjoyment rather than sweat and strain. Expect to complete this light-hearted challenge in around 7 minutes, leisurely strolling your way to the finish line where you’ll be greeted with a refreshing beer and a commemorative finisher's medal!
This event is not only about good times but also supports a great cause, with proceeds benefiting the Kansas Humane Society. As you run (or walk) through the course, you’ll enjoy the company of fellow participants, stay hydrated at the water station, and soak up the shade provided to keep you cool. Early birds can snag registration for just $30 until December 31, 2024, but don’t wait too long—spaces are limited to only 300 participants! Each runner will also take home a limited edition "Barks, Brews & Running Shoes" T-shirt and have a chance to win exciting giveaways

THIS IS THE KIND OF "RUN" THAT'S REALLY FUN... IT'S A 0.5K BEER RUN! (That's right, 0.5k... that equals 1/3 Mile or 546 yards or 1,640 feet!) We have it on good authority that it will take you about 7 minutes to complete--and that's if you walk! But no pressure, everyone's a winner at this event. Worried you'll overheat from the exertion? Worry not! We will keep you hydrated along the way with a water station and _when you cross the finish line of this mentally and physically taxing 0.5k you'll be rewarded with a finishers medal and BEER! _Participants also receive a limited edition Side Pockets "Barks, Brews & Running Shoes" 0.5k Beer Run T-Shirt and will be entered to win some fabulous giveaways.
And don't worry about the heat, we've heard you guys! This year, we will make sure there is plenty of shade (the good kind)!

**Woofstock Registrations will be available online on the dates indicated as well as in person at the Side Pockets Booth at Woofstock at Sedgwick County Park [https://give.kshumane.org/event/2024-woofstock/e592384], October 5, 10am - 3pm. Registrants who sign up at Woofstock will receive their "Stress Paw" at registration. Online Woofstock Registrants will receive their "Stress Paw" in their run packets on the day of the race.
***While we will do our best to accommodate shirt selection and sizing, Late Registrants will not be guaranteed to receive their selected size and/or style of Commemorative Race Shirt.
