Join us for the Skate4Grant's Grief Challenge Run on Saturday, August 8th, 2026, in the scenic Ashby, Otter Tail, at the beautiful Seven Sisters Prairie. This uplifting event invites you to run or walk in memory of loved ones you've lost, whether they are friends, family members, mentors, or even beloved pets. Participants can choose between two exhilarating routes: a hilly 5K course featuring 1.5 miles of rugged gravel, or a more challenging 5-mile route that offers breathtaking views of Lake Christina along with 16 hills.
This year, we aim to continue the extraordinary sense of community fostered last year, where participants came together to heal, connect, and remember. Honor your loved ones by submitting their names and photos, which will be displayed along the course and on your race bib, ensuring their memory stays with you every step of the way. Can't make it in person? No problem! Sign up for our in-spirit options and run or walk wherever you are. GRIEF CHALLENGE HILL RUN | SATURDAY AUGUST 8TH, 2026, SEVEN SISTERS PRAIRIE | ASHBY, MN | 8:00 AM
Last year, something quietly extraordinary happened on the hills of Seven Sisters Prairie. We didn't know exactly what to expect in our first year as the Grief Challenge Hill Run. What we found was a community ready to show up, for themselves, for each other, and for the ones no longer with us. We're doing it again. Come run or walk with us, whether in-person or in-spirit, to heal, connect, and remember.
On Saturday, August 9th, we invite you back to the hills, or for the first time, if last year passed you by. Run or walk in memory of someone you've lost: a friend, a family member, a mentor, a pet. Submit their name and photo and we'll display them along the course and on your race bib, so they're with you every step of the way. There's no obligation, just an open invitation to make their memory part of the miles.
CHOOSE YOUR ROUTE :
* 5K ROUTE: 1.5 miles of hilly gravel, then return on the same trail to complete the 3.2 miles.
* 5-MILE ROUTE: a 1.2-mile stretch of level ground along Highway 78 with an up-close view of Lake Christina, with a finish of 4 miles of gravel roads and 16 hills.
* IN-SPIRIT ROUTES: if you can't make the race, choose from a 5K or 5-mile route wherever you are and run or walk with us in-spirit; we'd still love to honor your loved ones and will share them along our route as a tribute (we'll be sure to share pictures with you!).
$25 REGISTRATION INCLUDES A HAT (REGISTER BY AUGUST 1ST TO BE ENTERED TO WIN A GIFT CARD).
We promise crystal-clear signage, mile markers, and easy-to-follow routes mean you can focus on what actually matters: the experience.
