This year, the event is also embracing sustainability with a cupless initiative, encouraging runners to bring their own hydration solutions while still providing cups for those who need them. The Smelter City Scamper is a locally hosted race that supports food access and community health in Anaconda. Led by the Anaconda Community Market, the Scamper welcomes runners, walkers, families, and longtime locals alike. A hometown race with lots of heart!
Whether youre lining up for the half marathon, jogging the 5K with friends, or watching kids sprint their hearts out for one block, this race is about showing up, for yourself and for your community.

The Scamper takes place during Smeltermens Day weekend, so make a weekend out of it as there's plenty to do and see around town. Your run ends at Kennedy Commons and rolls straight into the Smeltermens Day Brewfest. Good timing, good people, and a solid way to wrap up race morning.
