THIS IMPORTANT CHARITY EVENT IS SNIPSAS LARGEST FUNDRAISER TO RAISE AWARENESS ABOUT THE PLIGHT OF HOMELESS DOGS AND CATS IN OUR AREA. RACE FOR THE RESCUES IS A PET-FRIENDLY 5K COURSE BEGINNING AT THE ALAMO HEIGHTS SWIMMING POOL IN SAN ANTONIO. YOU HAVE THE OPTION TO RUN/WALK THE RACE BY YOURSELF, WITH YOUR DOG(S) OR IN A TEAM. ALL PROCEEDS FROM THE RACE SUPPORT SNIPSAS SPAY/NEUTER OUTREACH IN THE COMMUNITY AND PROVIDE VETERINARY CARE FOR OUR RESCUE ANIMALS. EVENT FEES*:
5K Individual Run for Competitive Runners without Dogs $40
5k Individual Walk/Run $40 (with or without dogs)
5K Children Walk/Run $25
5K Team Entry (10 person minimum) Walk/Run $35
*No refunds. 100% of proceeds will be used to fund animal medical needs.
TEAMS Once you reach the minimum of 10 runners, you will get a $5 refund. This is to ensure that you have a minimum of 10 runners per team.
HOW TO REGISTER YOUR TEAM:
1. Pick your event
2. If you are creating a group choose create a group/team
3. If you are joining a team, choose join an existing team" and find the name of the team you want to join
4. Click continue and fill the rest of the info.
AWARD CATEGORIES:
Awards will be in the form of medals (gold, silver, bronze) given for:
* 1st Overall M/F
* Top 3 M/F w/dog (runner and dog must run and cross the finish line together)
* 1st Master (over 50) M/F
* Top 3 M/F in the following age groups (Individual 5K only): 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and older.
*All awards will be based on chip time. Winners are not eligible for multiple awards.
