Participants will embark on a scenic 6.6K run/walk, celebrating endurance and community as they cross from Illinois into Missouri. The event features a pre-race celebration at 4 PM, complete with music and a community sendoff, followed by the sunset run at 6 PM, offering breathtaking views as the sun sets over the river.
As part of the journey, runners and walkers will have the chance to join Enric Casacuberta for a shared segment of 2.1 miles, honoring those affected by ALS. Each participant will receive an official series medal and a unique Route 66 charm for their medal collection. This event not only symbolizes a personal challenge but also stands as a powerful statement of solidarity and support for ALS awareness. With a spirit of togetherness, let's lace up, show up, and celebrate the shared mission of raising awareness for ALS, one mile at a time!

Welcome to Stop18, the final chapter of the Solidarity Sidekick Down Route66 Series a 6.6K run/walk at the historic town of Granite City the symbolic gateway between Illinois and Missouri. This is where our statewide journey meets the Mississippi River, where the sun sets over two states, and where we send Enric Casacuberta onward into the next leg of his solo Route66 run for ALS awareness.
The bridge is one of the most breathtaking landmarks on the entire Mother Road it is closed on the Illinois side until October so we wont be crossing the milelong span with its famous midriver bend, towering trusses, and panoramic river views. Its the perfect place to celebrate everything this series stands for: endurance, solidarity, and the shared spirit of the road.
