Parking is available at Kuliga Park, with overflow options at Faith Fellowship Church. Join us for a timed 5k, casual fun run/walk, food, music, games, raffles and more! All proceeds benefit The Cure Starts Now to fund pediatric brain cancer research in honor of Sophie, Elena, Cece, Jack, Lauren, Wyatt T, Erin, Sarah, Reese, Wyatt R, and all children battling cancers.
Parking is available at Kuliga Park with overflow parking available at Faith Fellowship Church.
PACKET PICK-UP
Location: St. Jude School (5924 Bridgetown Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45248)
Date: Wednesday November 5th and Thursday November 6th
Times: 6:30pm-8pm
Sophies Angel Run has been a staple of the West Side of Cincinnati since 2007. The 5K Run/Walk takes place in Bridgetown, OH and annually attracts thousands of families, friends and runners.
The Meinhardt Family originally started the event after losing their daughter Sophie to a rare and aggressive brain tumor. The community rallied behind them in order to honor Sophie and raise money for medical research and educational scholarships. In 2021 the campaign was able to raise over $85,000 which benefitted Cincinnati Childrens Hospital and $5,000 in scholarships to students of several local catholic schools.
Immediately after Sophie died it was so important for us to not only let everyone know what happened but to also celebrate her life. Anyone that knew Sophie knew she was full of life. Sophie never stopped moving during her 18 months on earth. One of her favorite things to do was to ride in the double jogging stroller with her big sister Mia while their Daddy ran. In 2022 the event has been renamed The Angel Run and event coordination turned over to the families of The Cure Starts Now. The Meinhardt family is still be involved and want to ensure the event can continue for years to come as it provides so much value to the community and the beneficiaries.
Our family is connected with the Meinhardt family in our collective desire to help the next family effected by cancer. Helping to carry The Angel Run on is just one of those ways.
