Whether you choose to complete your distance on a treadmill, at a local park, or with friends and family, there are endless possibilities to join in on the fun and make a difference for these majestic animals.
As part of your registration, you'll receive a stunning medal to commemorate your participation and show off your support for giraffe conservation. Remember, medals must be picked up in person at designated times, including special pickup events at the zoo. This year, let’s come together to celebrate World Giraffe Day and contribute to the vital work of the GCF. Welcome TO OUR 7TH ANNUAL WORLD GIRAFFE DAY VIRTUAL 5K!
*Participants will be notified by email and on this site with instructions on when and where they can pick up their medal.
***REMINDER TO THOSE SIGNING UP, THERE WILL BE NO MEDALS MAILED, YOU MUST PICK UP YOUR MEDALS IN PERSON***
***MEDAL PICKUP OPTIONS ***
Tuesday the 16th from 12-1 PM at the Starbucks at the zoo
Sunday the 21st 5:30-6 PM at the Animals Always Sculpture at the Zoo.
A Run is scheduled at 6 PM on the 21st starting at the Animals Always Sculpture.
Medal pickup at 7-8 PM at Modern Brewery Patio.
By signing up to either walk or run this 5K event, proceeds will go to the GIRAFFE CONSERVATION FOUNDATION (GCF) to aid in their efforts to help save one of the most majestic animals on earth. For more information about the great work that they do, please visit WWW.GIRAFFECONSERVATION.ORG [http://www.giraffeconservation.org] . You can get your 5K in on a treadmill at home or the gym, a walk with family or friends at your favorite park, the options are endless.
