Get ready to lace up your running shoes and celebrate St. Patrick's Day in style at the 9th annual St. Paddy's Leprechaun Chase and Children's Wee Chase on Saturday, March 15, 2025, in beautiful Holland, Ottawa! This festive event kicks off with the Children's Wee Chase at 8:30 AM, a delightful quarter-mile race designed for children ages 4-8 around the Holland Civic Center. Following the kiddos, the main event, the 5K Leprechaun Chase, starts at 9:00 AM, offering participants a chance to race through a vibrant course while donning their best green outfits and Irish costumes.
Not only is this event a fantastic way to engage with the community, but it also supports a great cause, with proceeds benefiting the West Michigan Chapter of myTEAM TRIUMPH, an organization dedicated to providing racing experiences for individuals with disabilities. All participants will receive a race shirt and have the opportunity to win finisher and age group medals for the top three in each category. This is a fundraising event hosted by the Holland Running Club (HRC) [https://www.hollandrunningclub.org/] with proceeds benefiting the West Michigan Chapter of myTEAM TRIUMPH [https://mttwestmichigan.org/], an organization that is dedicated to providing the experience of road racing to individuals with disabilities.
THE WEE CHASE STARTS FROM THE CIVIC CENTER AT 8:30 AM. Children ages 4-8 years old are encouraged to participate. This course will be a quarter mile course around the Holland Civic Center. Registration is free, but parents of the little lads and lasses must sign them up ahead of time.
THE 5K STARTS FROM THE CIVIC CENTER AT 9:00 AM. Finisher and age group medals (top 3) will be awarded. All participants will receive a shirt, unless opting out. Snacks will also be served at the Holland Civic Center when runners finish (hot chocolate, coffee, water, and donut holes).
