Join us on Saturday, November 15, 2025, in the vibrant community of Mineral City, Tuscarawas, for the heartfelt event, Stand With The Band. This special occasion honors the memory of the students from Tusky Valley High School who tragically lost their lives in a bus accident. Participants will take part in a meaningful 6K walk/run, with a poignant 1K dedicated to each of the beloved individuals we remember: students John Mosley, Katelyn Owens, and Jeffrey Worrell, along with their cherished teacher, Dave Kennat, and devoted chaperones, Kristy Gaynor and Shannon Wigfield.
This event not only serves to commemorate these remarkable lives but also brings together the community in a spirit of support and unity. 6K (1K in honor of each lost) to remeber the students from Tusky Valley High School were killed, John Mosley, Katelyn Owens, and Jeffrey Worrell. As well as the Teacher and Chaperones, Dave Kennat (teacher), Kristy Gaynor, and Shannon Wigfield (parent chaperones) were also killed in the tragic bus accident on 11/14/2023

Please join us for the third annual Stand with the Band Memorial Run/Walk event, where everyone will gather for a memorial event and a celebration of life. We are excited as this year the event will be a little different and we will have an event that is focused completely on a memorial event and not focused a fundraising event. Our goal is to remember and celebrate the lives of those lost so that they are not forgotten. Students: John Mosley, Katelyn Owens, Jeffrey Worrell, Dave Kennat (teacher), Kristy Gaynor, and Shannon Wigfield (parent chaperones) We will start the day at noon with an opening ceremony and a free kids fun run. The opening ceremony will include opening comments, prayer, a moment of silence and the national anthem. Following the opening ceremony we will have a free kids fun run. Again, this will be focused on community, memory and a celebration of life. Following the opening ceremony and kids fun run at 12:46 we will have the first annual Stand with the Band Memorial 6K! This will be an official race with timing, shirt and medals. All runners and walkers are welcome to participate no matter your skill level or pace. There will be official timing and age group awards as well. The course will take us through the TV cross country course and offer a beautiful trek through the woods and around the TV campus. The 3.72 mile/6K course will be perfect for reflection and celebration. We look forward to continuing and building this tradition with the Tusky Valley community. -
