Get ready to lace up your running shoes for the Yough Band on the Run 5k, taking place on Saturday, April 11, 2026, in the scenic West Newton, Westmoreland! This exciting race will unfold along the beautiful West Newton Trailhead of the Great Allegheny Passage Trail, featuring a flat, out-and-back course that’s perfect for runners of all levels.
Participants will have the chance to compete for prestigious plaques awarded to the top three finishers in both men's and women's categories, with additional age group awards for those 18 & under, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60+. Walkers are also welcome, with medals for the top three finishers in that category. Plus, the first 75 finishers will receive a unique official race button handcrafted by students at The Maryland School for the Blind. Join in on the fun and camaraderie as you run for a great cause and enjoy a wonderful day in the outdoors!
