Get ready for an exhilarating day of fitness and community at the 21st Annual Run to Read Half Marathon on Saturday, January 17, 2026, in the scenic Fairmont, Marion! This exciting event features a unique double out-and-back course that spans two picturesque rail trails. Runners will enjoy a smooth 5-mile paved section that winds through the historic and beautifully restored Meredith Tunnel, followed by a stunning route on crushed limestone that offers breathtaking views of the Monongahela River.
Participants can look forward to long sleeve tech shirts if they register by December 17, 2025, and each finisher will receive a custom memento to commemorate their achievement. With a convenient 1 PM start time, same-day registration begins at 11:30 AM. The event not only promises a fun and rewarding race experience but also supports a great cause—benefiting Literacy Volunteers of Marion County, which provides essential tutoring in reading, math, and ESL. Join us for a day filled with running, camaraderie, and delicious post-race food, and be part of the first race in the MAGP race series!

Organiser's Description
Double out and back on 2 rail trails. The first section is about 5 miles long, is paved & goes through the historic & restored Meredith Tunnel. The second trail is on crushed limestone & has a scenic view of the Monongahela River. Long sleeve tech shirts if registered by Dec 17th 2025. A very limited number of shirts may be available for same-day registration, so please pre-register online or via mail. All finishers will get a nice custom finisher memento!
Hour long videos from the 2009 race & the 2013 race are on You Tube. Race news is posted on Facebook. Awards presented as runners finish. Lots of post-race food. Convenient 1pm start time. First race in MAGP race series. Chip timing by Miles of Smiles Timing Services. Results will be posted on smileymiles.com.
